I took an online iq test and then looked at some books. What is with the puzzle and how can you "logically" work them.

It's like how a Rubik's cube is solved by smart people. Just a test as to how well the kinssthetic portion of your brain deciphers information.

I hope I answered your question. Good luck!
-Also, online IQ tests are often incorrect. Take a real one if you want a more accurate result.

Those online IQ tests are not real. They can tell you nothing about your intelligence quotient.
The IQ is really only a number that tells you your intelligence level compared to all other people. The mean score (average score) is 100. An IQ of 100 means that you are in the middle - you are not smarter than most people, but you are not less intelligent than most people, either.
An IQ is only a comparative measure, and while statistically valid, it is datum that is applicable only in certain circumstances.
If it's online, it's a marketing gimmick to entice you to buy something. Don't fall for it. That is the real intelligence test - will you see the purpose behind the test and buy their product that you don't need - perhaps only to feel smarter than your "friends" and create a patch over the hole in your self-esteem?

Although intelligence can be thought of as a general ability, most psychologists believe that intelligence can be broken down into a number of components. These include verbal abilities, memory skills, perceptual organizational abilities, processing speed and other cognitive functions. Most measures of intelligence attempt to measure these various abilities. Online intelligence tests are, by nature, suspect. But they still incorporate the notion of different forms of intelligence. So the puzzles you get on these online tests (and in "real" intelligence tests, as well) measure a particular type of ability - one of the perceptual organizational or visual-spatial skills. Think of people who go into fields such as engineering or architecture. They are likely to be above average in these type of skills.

As far as how you can "logically" work these puzzles, all I can tell you is that they always have an answer and that the more of them you can do correctly, the higher you will score.

Hope that helps answer your question.

I don't get that "IQ" junk either. What really matters is EQ: emotional intellegnce. It's got to do with the way you handle things emotionally.
