I suppose anything is possible, but I doubt it. You would think that by practicing a whole lot you could catch up with them but you can't. The players who end up turning pro practice every day of the week, I'm willing to bet longer than you, and they started when they were 4. Do not lose interest in tennis because of this, high school tennis is extremely fun and competitive. If you want to get a lot better at tennis you should play in usta tournaments in addition to practicing. These help more than you can imagine. Keep playing tennis start playing tournaments if you really want to become a pro.

I started tennis when I was 11. I played about 4 time a week, and about 3 hours each practice. I did that from when I was 11 to 22 years of age. I played college tennis but did not make it in the pros. One thing for sure: it's not easy. You cannot make pro just by practicing 3 to 4 hours a day - everyone who's trying to make pros practice 3 or 4 hours a day, believe me.

First, you should try to assess where you are in your age group. Assuming you are in the US, the USTA has many regional tournaments for your age group. Find out about which 15 year olds in your region are highly ranked regionally and try to watch some of those matches. After watching those players, ask yourself - "can I beat these players in 1 to 2 years from now". Then if you are fortunately enough to live in a city/state that has national junior tournaments in your age group, watch some of the top nationally ranked players .. like the top 10 fifteen-year-olds in the nation. Then ask yourself the question again "can I beat these players in 1 to 2 years from now". Some of these kids are really good - and guess what - almost ALL of them never make it in the pros. Nany of them started tennis when they were 6,7, or 8 years old. I was a highly ranked junior, and never made it in the pros because other players were simply better.. bigger, faster, better shots. From my age group, only Sammy Giammalva made it to the pros.. Who's Sammy G you ask? He was one of the greatest juniors US has produced and he had very little success in the pros.

You are already 15, but you may have many physical gifts, like athleticism, strengths, height etc.. and that make your situation different. However, find out exactly what you are getting into.

I play tennis and I say that if you continue playing that often you could easily become pro. During the summer you should go to a camp where all you do is play tennis pretty much. You sleep there and you should stay there for a couple of weeks. It really helps me when I go to one of those camps.

I'm asking my self the same question i started when i was 15 and when i joined the tennis team, i made varsity i was amazed. i have been playing USTA tournaments and playing people that have far more experience then me and i come out victorious all that practice really paid off and i'm still doing it. just keep on practicing and conditioning and you might get a chance that's what I'm hoping for....
