Depends on how you view safety. They are a danger to our economy. They have been attacking the U.S. dollar on the international market. They have done so by selling oil and demanding payment in Euros. Iran is trying to expand its influence among oil exporting countries to get the international oil exchange traded in Euros. Such a move would crash the dollar.
The people of Iran have a long standing grudge with the U.S. that goes back 50 years. That wrong against Iran has never been righted. The country suffered through 30 years of human rights violations under the Shah who was supported by the U.S.

I think that indirectly they could cause us a lot of problems. Because we will defend Israel and may be dragged into fighting with them in there defence. They are more a an immediate danger to Israel. If they ever obtiain nukes then they will be able to force their will upon the rest of the arab world. I just don't understand why Iran makes some of the statements they do.

Their leadership is a whole lot bigger danger to all of the innocent People in their Country who are not able to make their Leaders behave. AP has the Story about Iran's Theocracy being involved in the supplying of EFPs(Explosively Forced Projectiles) being supplied to the Mahdi Militia to destroy Abrams Tanks!
Having leaders getting caught with their hands in the Cookie Jar is not good for the People!

The Bush administration has spent at least a month gathering information or evidence to support their theory that Iran has been supplying terrorists with weapons and bomb making materials. Ask them for details on this topic.

They always have been to a certain degree but they know their limitations and are truly scared of Americas retaliation. When democrates take the presidency, You'll see them come out and act a fool again, because they know nothing will happen to them. Carter and Clinton was true proof of that. If Bush dosn't straighten them out before he leaves office, You'll see roses thrown at them from the next administration.

Maybe. I dont think it boils down to just Iran. It is individuals going to train to be suicide bombers, etc. Unfortunately right now , they kill innocent citizens instead of the guilty ones.
To bad they couldnt channel that energy into being productive !!!! Wow, wouldnt they roar across the world in a positive way then !

Iran is run by a government which values above all else Islamic radicalism. They have no fear of dying as long as they kill their "enemies" (i.e. us). They are working very hard every day at being able to make nuclear weapons and they have ignored *countless* United Nations resolutions.
A country that is run by Islamic fundamentalists and ignores the will of the international community is absolutely a threat and should be dealt with.

No. The present hype is due entirely to the fact that Bush is looking for a scapegoat for his filued war in Iraq--and the upcoming added failure of his "surge" tactic.

Possibly. We have to be aware of that possibility and get as much intelligence as we can.
Unfortunately, if there is good reason to deal with Iran, Bush may not get much support. He's told too many lies in the past. Now he has to make a much stronger case than he might otherwise.
