Your doctor needs to know that you have started your periods. And I don't think that she will look 'you know where'.

Well im 12 and started my period when I was 10. I just went to the doctor recently and they do all the regualr stuff... Eye sight, weight, height, blood preasure.... They tell you to change into a paper gown thing and they leave. When they return they tell you to sit on the table and they ask u some questions...

1. Do you have ur period yet?
2. When was the last time u had it
3. Is it regular yet?
4. How much milk do u drink?
5.How long does it last?

THen for the exam:

*first and for most they will check both ears and they will check your mouth with a light and ask you if u see the dentist every year

1. they put the stethiscope on ur chest and back and tell u to breathe in and out
2. Tell u to bend down and they check your spine to see that it is growing correctly

FYI u still have ur underwear and sports bra on if u have 1

3 tell u to lye down and they feel ur abdomin and they peck quickly under your bra and under ur underwear.

then u get ur shots.

1. u sit on the table
2. They pul up your shirt
3. wipe the area
4. give u the shot
5. Put on a bandadge

then they tell u to put ur cloths back on... ur probably releaved....

Then they tell u to go home....
Thats it... Im 12 and thats it

It may vary what the doctor does or in what order but I think there is a rule or something that all the doctors have 2 follow or procedure.....?

GOOD LUCK!!!!!! ps. u'll be fine!!!!

There is NOT way she will do a pelvic exam! espectially at ur age. I never had 1 yet either. But not at ur age! Dont worry about that. U have a couple of years till u have 2 worry about that! Trust me!

Well it depends on what kind of doctor you are going to and what for. I am guessing you are going to a pediatrician or a family doctor for a physical or check up. For me, I am thirteen and go to a pediatrician. I got my period at eleven, my doctor just took a quick peek (she didnt pull my pants down or anything, nothing to worry about!) Then she will most likely just ask if you have started and ask when you started and for how long it lasted, etc. It's nothing to really worry about, but being at your age I totally understand; I was also very nervous! Just be open and honest and she/he understand that you will probably be nervous. (taking deep breaths help) Good luck hun! Also if you have any questions you can e-mail me, meggy191211@yahoo.com.

First and foremost, congratulations on joining the ranks of women everywhere. This is a cause for celebration for you, and I hope you shared it with your mother or other older female realtives.

Your doctor may not ask you about it, but you need to tell her anyway.

Yes, she may do a pelvic exam, or she may wait a few years. But here's some links to information about women's health, including pelvic exams.

And here's a hint. Pelvic exams are a normal and necessary part of a woman's physical exam. In fact, having regular pelvic exams can save your life. Get used to the idea.

It depends on the doctor but everytime I go to the doctor she always asks me that and looks down there (I am 15)

I started when I was 10 too. My doctor never did a gynecological (looking down there) until I was older, almost 18.

Talk to your parents.

I guess it depends on why you're going to the doctor. If she does ask, just be honest and tell her what's happening. It's OK to tell her.
