Okay, so me and my boyfriend have been dating a year and almost two months now. I want Valentines day to be really special to him, since he made our year anniversary so special to me. I'm just not quite sure what to do or get him. Valentine's night he has to work and it ruined all of my plans. So...now what? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe get him something that both he and you could enjoy together, such as tickets to see his favorite team play sports, or a concert. How about a dinner gift cert to one of his favorite restaurants? Also, you could book a one night getaway to a really nice hotel / resort. If you don't have that much to spend, you could get creative and surprize him with a home cooked meal and many romantic things after dinner (such as a massage, etc.) ;-). You could light candles and make it really romantic. If he's working, you can do this after Valentine's Day...it will be a real surprize then! Gifts that show you put some thought and effort into them are the best. I've been with my hubby for 7 1/2 years (married for 1 1/2), and it always seems that gifts that give an experience, rather than just stuff, are the most memorable.

Make him a handmade Valentine card. It shows you care enough to spend the time on it.
Inside put a "gift certificate" for a night of fun, or make a list of where you'll take him when you're both available.
