Ford Falcon and Maverick, a friend had a Maverick that weighed in at 2350 and they are still cheap. The drawback is you are limited to small blocks. The Chevy Nova and Dodge Darts were also light weights. Good luck.

I suggest a camaro, but instead of going with a big block spend that money on building a small block 350. I have a 350 small block with over 500 horsepower( still runs on 93 octane)! The same machine shop that built my motor just finished a 350 with almost 700 horsepower. My motor cost about $3,500, the second cost about $20,000! If your stuck on really big motors with really big HP, try a blower motor with that it really wont matter how much the car weighs. You can find a real affordable blower motor @ Big Al's Toy box you can look it up on the net!

A friend of mine had a 2 door Chevy monza with an 8 cylinder engine. The monza was about the same size as a Vega. The monza was quick and fast, but scary also!

I had a VW bug in the early sixties, which was very light. However, the King Midget was probably the lightest car around. I think they went out of business sometime around 1960 - you can Google it.

Good luck!

Ford Falcon and Chevy II were both pretty light in the mid 60's,
probably below 2500 pounds.

You looking for domestic or imports, what about home conversion. Secondly, just exactly could you do with this information?
