I own the 360 and the PS3. I can honestly say that the 360 will give you more problems than Sony's product - as of now. Comparing the Wii to the PS3 will give you a bunch of no-brained answers with no reasons because of the amounts of fanboys online. It all depends on what type of gamer you are. I would DEFINITELY recommend the Wii for the casual gamer because it does it's one and only job - entertains. If you're into a more media-based console and have a few extra hundred dollars to spend go for the PS3.

Well, I don't like either one of them. I hate the concept of the Wii, and I think the games look childish, and the PS3 was over priced and I've heard it's got a ton of problems and really sucks. I'm all about the 360.

It depends totally on what you are looking for.
Wii:
Pros: Good cost, fun play, fairly priced games, motion sesnative remotes, small size, doesn't overheat
Cons: OK sound, OK graphics, hard to find, not as many of the famous series(like tony hawk
PS3:
Pros: Great graphics, Great sound, more of the good series, (kind of) motion sensative, in stock everywhere
Cons: WAY overpriced, big size, commonly ovewrheats, $60 games
Make your own decision (I say Wii all the way)
Also, don't forget the Xbox 360
