GK- Robinson (He's struggled in the Premiership, but unless England wants to go back to Calamity James there's no one else.)
Def- Richards, Campbell, Terry, Cole (Campbell has shown this season that he still belongs on the national team.)
Mid- Lennon, Hargreaves, Gerrard, Joe Cole (England should have the best midfield in the world. Maybe adding some of these younger players will help things. Lennon & Hargreaves certainly looked good in the Cup, and Joe Cole always plays fantastically for Chelsea. Cole doesn't get nearly enough credit for his slashing attacks!)
Stk- Rooney, Defoe (Defoe belonged in the last Cup. Sven's biggest failing was his selection of strikers. Crouch & Wolcott before Defoe? Are you crazy?)

Richards at RB in stead of Neville for sure. I'd like to see Downing given 90 mins on the left, he's impressed when he's been on.

I'd like to see us play a sort of 4-2-3-1
GK: Foster/James
RB: G Neville
LB: A Cole
CB: R Ferdinand
CB: Terry
CM: Gerrard
CM: Hargreaves
RW: Lennon
LW: J Cole
ACM: Rooney
CF: Defoe/Owen
* Paul Robinson is an awful goalkeeper with the agility of a concrete block
* Stewart Downing is also a useless lump - his kick & run tactic only works agianst full backs with one leg.
* Frank Lampard is one of the most overrated players in the world

Personally, with the possible exception of Terry, I'd pick none of the above.
I'd rather pick a team of players from the lower leagues . Granted, they would probably get beaten but I'd rather see an England team with hungrier players who are proud to wear the shirt, instead of the current crop of overpaid, preening Nancy boys who seem to view England games as a disruption to their pampered lives as opposed to being an honour.
Stuart Pearce was bang on recently when he made his comment about today's players preferring a Ferrari to an England cap. And it is for that reason that England will NEVER win another major tournament.
