I've been hangin out with this girl from school for a few weeks now, and now that valentines day is around the corner, I would like to do something special for her to let her know how I feel. Our friendship started out by our friends hookin us up together and once we became fond of one another, it escalated into something else. However, she has told other friends of mine that she doesnt want a relationship because the last one she was in was bad and she was hurt from the whole experience. I too am not looking for a relationship, I just want to let her know that I do have feelings for her, and I want to be more than "Just Friends". She's a shy girl, and I'm a pretty shy guy, so I have a feeling this could be bad, but I'm willing to do it anyway. I really need some advice, so if anyone out there has been in the situation I'm in, or knows what to do, Please help me outt!!
~Thank You

Even though we spend alot of time together, I still think we could spend more. As I said before, she's a pretty shy girl, so those alone moments are awkward sometimes. Most of the time we're together, its never just us. Theres always her friends or my friends, and I can never really get to be completely alone with her. Thats why I kind of ruled out the thought of taking her out to dinner for valentines day. I dont know how that would go, being that we're never really alone together. I really just wish she would see how much I liked her so things wouldnt be this complicated. I know I will treat her better than her last bf, but shes probably too afraid to show how she feels towards me b/c she doesnt ever want to get hurt like that again...

Ok, so last night I came up with a poem to write in the card I get her. I think its alright, but opinions are always welcome!! Please read it and let me know what you all think__
I know you may not like valentines day
and wish it didn't exist
but to prove to you that I care about you
I am writing you this
the past few weeks
or month or two
whatever it may be
I learned some stuff
and saw some things
that have really changed me
I'm not trying to commit here
and tell you I'm in "love"
I just want to let you know
I'm here when you need a hug
Its good to have someone who cares for you
who can give you some advice
because I know how it feels to be all alone
and have no one by your side
I really like being with you
because you know how to have fun
your as crazy as me
and know how to party
and that's just number one
Just in case you're wondering
I wrote this all on my own
Because no card in the store
Or song in the world
Can tell you how I feel

Flowers are good, but very expensive. You can't go wrong with chocolates or other candy like a white divinity.

Alright, its simple. Give her an annoymous card, but leave small hints about who you are. I am a girl, and I know that we like things like that. We love to run around school telling all of our friends that someone put a "Secret card" in out locker. It happened to me once, and I loved it. She would especially like a SMALL teddy bear (like a dog or a cat according to which she prefers). Mostly, I'd say that she would like it from a store, and not something hand made. That could scare her away, and if she is shy, I'm sure it would. If she is into any sports, give her a necklace or bracelate that says something about it. For example, if she is into cheerleading, the give her a necklace with a pom-pom or one of those speaker cones (I can't remember what they are called). Or if she likes softball, buy her a bracelate with a soft ball chain. Make sure not to go too expensive, though. That could make her feel uncomfortable. Better yet, but her a small, cheap, heart shaped locket with her picture in it, and fold up a small not that says, "I hope you like this." I would be impressed, and I think she would, too! Be sure to stay away from clothes, because if you get a size to large, she would think that you think shes fat, and if you get a size to small, she would think that she IS fat and you couldn't find a big enough size.
So, I hope I helped some! Let me know how things turn out, ok? Good luck... and remember to keep it annoymous!

Well, I've helped out my friend that is in somewhat of the same situation. You don't want to go too extravagant, because you don't want to seem too pushy. If you ever had one of those "special moments" that was not a milestone but something you two shared. Get her a little memorabilia of that moment. Or even just a single white rose with a tag that says You are a friend and so much more to me. Thank you for being you! I don't know. My husband our first Valentine's Day, even though 2 days late, sent me a dozen roses with a tag that said sincerely your jack***. We weren't dating or anything, just friends. I hope I helped you at least a little bit.

Aw, I must admit, you sound like a real sweet guy.
But if she's relationship-shy, I think getting her much of anything for Valentine's Day can be taken the wrong way. It rules out roses, mushy cards, teddy bears and other such things.
Maybe a pair of movie tickets? I know it sounds lame, but it doesn't scream "COMMITMENT!" it just says "Hey, wanna hang out with me?" <3 It's a difficult situation, and I wish you luck!

If she is just out of a bad relationship a simple card and something impersonal like a gift card & one rose would be enough.
You do not want to be to over the top.
Good Luck

Last year in Jan. me and this guy started hanging out. My sister introduced us. We started hanging out alot, but we didn't want to go out. We both liked each other. He got me a teddy bear and a really nice card. I suggest you get her a teddy bear and make her a card, because it is more personal. Write in it about how you know you are friends, but let her know that you are always there for her. She'll love it!

I'm kind of in the same situation. Except its my ex-boyfriend and I don't know what to get him. But I am a girl so I know what she prolly wants. Buy her some flowers and make her a card. Make it big, like out of posterboard. Explain that you like her in the card and put all sorts of memories that you have together in it.

okay well
the present would depend on her personality
does she like showy, extravagant things
or simple gestures?
yeah you should prob. find out
and if you're really into her...just got up and tell her. i know that you're shy but you should just put yourself out there, honestly.
if you really care for her you should be willing to put yourself on the line
good luck =]
