Why sometimes we knew something so well, but we forgot it, like a person's name or things.

It's like I know I knew it but I just can't remember it at that moment!

It's a retrieval issue. The brain stores massive amounts of information. The longer you live, the more information is in there. Sometimes those neural pathways get jammed, or sidetracked and we just can't get to the information, even though it's there. It's kind of like when you get really long lag times on your computer, especially when your filling up all the memory. Unfortunately, with a brain, you can't add RAM, so you're stuck with what you got.
