Was the holocaust of the dinosaurs a "legitimate" holocaust because mother nature did it?

The reverence for "mother earth" that I see on the left convinces me that there is paganism underneath. After all, all matter is just matter, from a scientific or non-religious point of view.

Consider this...imagine that a mega volcano is ready to blow. All life will perish. If man were to intercede, has man now ascended beyond mother nature or has he committed some great leftist sin by thwarting her horrific plans?

The phrase "mother nature" is indeed pagan in orgin. I agree that the earths beauty is seductive, in the same way that a womans beauty is, but I will not make a religion out of it.

There is no great truth underneath the earth or of the earth. Essentially, the universes is a chaos of matter, and doesnt deserve respect in a religious sense, but cool practical rational analysis to continue to preserve OUR species.

Leftist environmentalist demogogery is paganism.

I agree with this statement. What percent of conservatives do? (hint, it's small).

"Leftist environmentalist demogogery is paganism."

Well, if you make a blanket judgment like that then you leave no room for facts to hold sway. Try examining the facts and judge them for what they are without attaching them to some strawman right off the bat.

Nature is both Mother and Father. It is what creates us, and what ends our lives. We are dependent on nature, we could not survive without it, but it could survive without us. What does it say about the overall importance of man kind when nature is more dependent on the survival of micro-organisms than it is on the survival of humans. The only species that would suffer if humans were to become extinct is head lice. We have technology and intelligence which allows us intervene in natures course to some extent, but we are by no means more powerful than nature itself. If we could somehow prevent a volcano from erupting it would be prudent, but with most things in nature it would probably be out of our control. I am not pagan, but I realize the debt we owe to nature for our very existence. The universe is chaos, but there is a balance within the chaos, otherwise life would not exist.

1) "Mother nature" as a term or concept predates politics entirely.

2) The extinction of the dinosaurs cannot be correctly called a holocaust, by any stretch of the imagination.

3) It's perfectly natural to have some reverence for the nature that sustains our existence without that reverence becoming a religion.

That's an interesting idea. But your making a statement and forgot to ask a question. I agree with a lot of what you say. By the way, you do know that the Bible states that man is the steward of the earth. And of course you do know that Christianity stole much from the pagans and called it there own, don't you?. What is it republicans hating the earth so much? After all, it gives us all sustenance.

pink Floyd. Rick Wright placed out 2 solo albums and is working on a third. Syd Barrett placed out 5. Gilmour did 3 and is working on yet another. Waters has 6 or maybe Nick Mason has 2 and wrote a e book. on an identical time as all of them did no longer bypass away, they did bypass directly to have separate solo careers. edit: hi sarah

Unlike many other mainstream religions, it would actually be founded on a tangible concept, the earth and all it entails. And yes, Mother Nature is a concept founded through the veneration of the earth spirit and all that it provides to us.

As for me, it is not a religion, but the earth and its environment is something to be respected. Hopefully, through better understanding, we can better predict weather occurrences and undo much of the damage, we as humans, have contributed to global climate shifts.

The term "mother nature" is simply a personification or a figure of speech.

Your so-called question is simply rhetoric. It's a conglomeration of high-sounding phrases, but ultimately lacks any sort of meaning.

I'm thinking you don't take medication, aspirin or shots of any kind, because you will be messing with that old pagan interference with 'mother nature' just like Leftists do.

That is BS. Mother nature is like referring to Santa Claus as Kris Kringle or the Republican Party as GOP. Just a name. It has nothing to do with evangelistic radicalist beliefs or any other.

I can see you're trying to make a point.
I fail to see how any of it matters though.
Maybe you should get a blog and go rant there.
