I have been bleeding between my periods...more like spotting...but today after I got back from the gym I noticed that my underwear had a lot of blood on them...kinda like when you have your first light day of a period. Other than that, I have to urinate a lot and I can't really keep water in my system. I am set up for an appointment with a gynecologist soon, but I was wondering if anyone here could give me some ideas on why this is happening.

PS: I am not sexually active or on any medications and I am 24 years old.

Your hormones may be fluctuating during the course of your cycle, which can be solved by going on the Pill and being sure to take it at the same time everyday

What is a pap test? Is it a test for cervical cancer where they take a sample from your cervix (in the UK we call this a smear test). If yes, then I would imagine that's the cause - they scrape the cervix to get cells, and that could conceivably cause a bit of spotting.

But spotting between periods is pretty common, it happens to me from time to time. Just watch out for pain in your tummy when it happens. Also, you could be ovulating - lots of women feel crap at this time and have the symptoms you describe - it can also cause spotting.

From what you say, I wouldn't be unduly alarmed. But do see your doctor.

Even though you are urinating alot you should see if you have a urinary tract infection, or a bladder infection, this also can cause bleeding.
