I get so frustrated when I attempt clothes shopping. Each shop seems to sell the same clothes! So what about if I am not into the latest fashion? I can just look in one shop, and If I don't like the designs then forget shopping until the next season! Wouldn't a shop do more business if it sold DIFFERENT clothes to the other shops? I thought a promoted aspect of capatilism is that it brings variety!

Most of the high street retailers are scared to venture into DIFFERENT styles. They spend millions following trends in the fashion market and stock what they know sells. They dont like taking risks. my wife complains about exactly the same thing.
The best place to look for origional clothing is carnaby street in london (or local market to you). Also, a lot of what she calls 'side street' clothe shops are good for origional peices.

high street shops are just a reflection of pop culture and current trends. They all sell the same things because they are all reflecting the same thing, whatever kate moss wore six months ago :P

branch out into the 'low' street and charity shops, or just start dressing in the most retarded clothes you can find. Usually when you wear completely ridiculous clothes, (moon boots and your mum's nightie perhaps?) people actually thing you are a 'cutting edge fashionistaaaaa'.. lol.

Failing that, there's always the internet. Buy foreign clothes.

There's quite a big difference, but a pretty sutble one, between what the average american shop sells compared to an australian or english one. Just look on ebay.

I agree you go from shop to shop and its all the same! It can be really annoying if you dont like that months latest trend! I always hope im going to like the next trend etc as it makes it so much easier! But i agree with you not everyone wants to wear the same!

I find that some more privatly own stores like smal boutiques etc have some more individual pieces. I have found a few very nice tops and things in places like that.

I also enjoy ebay shopping as you can pick up things that arent the same as the things in the shops if you search.

no longer probable, even if Lily Allen'#s Lily Loves selection is nicely stunning. For me the main serious issues are high quality, whether i like the garment and price. i've got not yet bought any ethical outfits yet i think of I could attempt a minimum of one ethical merchandise.
