How do I measure whether my tap fitting is 1/2" or 3/4" BSP

1/2" BSP is for pipes with an approximate outside diameter of 27/32", and for 3/4" BSP the o/d is one and one sixteenth inch. The 1/2" and 3/4" are the nominal inside diameters of the threads in the female part of the joint. Both have 14 threads per inch. So the best way to check is probably to measure the diameter of the inside of the threaded portion.

Get a ruler and look at the non-metric side and measure the hole/opening. See if it is 1/2 or 3/4 "
