No, carbonated drinks don't effect your lungs. They are bad because the carbonation can lead to an upset stomach and a myriad of intestinal problems. The CO2 is absorbed in the stomach juices and can give you gas, but it has little impact on your lungs or the level of CO2 in your blood.

Only in a microscopic way is the CO2 bad. The drinks are bad because blood sugar needs to be controlled by your pancreas which makes insulin. The problem is this organ wears out. Also the surges in blood sugar are not natural and while they are out of control while you are drinking it can harm you.

When you drink carbonated drinks, you don't pour them into your lungs! They go into your stomach. The gas will fizz out of the drink and build up in your stomach until you burp it out.

They are not bad for you. If you are talking about club soda, its just like drinking water. but if you mean coke or pepsi, that stuff is loaded with sugar and stuff that isnt good for u. beware of words like glucos and stuff like that. anything that rhymes with the word "gross" is a type of sugar being disguised with a fancy word. glad i could help :D
