i can not get use my laptop to go on the internet, i dont know weather its a problem with the rooter or my laptop but my laptop isn't finding any networks in range for me to conect to even tho they are close to each other ive check my lan settings i really don't nknow whats wrong if anybody has had a problem like this before can they please tell me how to get a connection on my laptop through a rooter

ok with your router hav u configured it all correctly with security settings (i.e. WEP or WPA keys) and set it up with your ISP info? once you have dun that for your laptop you need to enter the keys.

as for not being able to find you laptop made sure that SSID is enabled which allows devices to see your laptop.

Even a configuration error causing a WiFi computer not talking to a WiFi router the name of the router would still show up that is the premise of a WiFi finder device, whatever the problem is it is isolated, and most likely the router.

Power reset the router first, then pin reset the thing after.

contact your internet provider to see if there is a problem on their end. the other thing to do before you call them is to unplug the power from the router first for 1 minute then plugging it back in and see if the comp see's the network

You can try re-booting the router, pull the power plug wait at least a minute and plug it back in. If this doesn't work call your ISP and see if they have a problem in your area.
