I've struggled with anorexia for 13 years, and I developed bad hypoglycemia (I can't even tolerate fruit) 3 years ago. I used to drink juice and eat fruit just fine, but last year I burned 1,100 calories from working out and only ate 300-800 calories a day. I'm now on a 1,600 calorie diet a day, as directed by my doctor, and working up to 2,000 calories a day.

Has anyone developed hypoglycemia because of long-term anorexia?? and Are there any who "cured" the hypo by eating normal for long periods of time?

I am hoping to eat fruit and drink juice again one day. Now that I know how bad processed foods are, I won't be going back to a diet filled with refined sugar. I love my agave nectar, but it would be nice to enjoy honey or maple syrup again.

If you know anyone or went through this yourself please respond. I'm not sure if its possible to undo 13 years of damage.

I struggled with anorexia for the past few months and now I'm trying to cure myself. My best advice: stop counting calories and eat till you're full. Also, don't exercise as often. I know this sounds really bad, but this is what I've been told to do...just until your weight normalizes. This is difficult, yes, I know it is, but it's something you have to do to start living your life to the fullest again. 300-800 calories is NOT healthy...human beings were made to eat more than that.
