When you place 1 hand in a cold bucket of water, and the other hand in a warm bucket of water and then after a while place it in room temperature water... what would your hands feel like? what happened?

My science teacher used to tell us: There is no hot or cold. There is just the difference from room temperature (or the temperature that you were previously in).

I agree. It feels "cold" and "hot" on your hands because your hand just changed temperatures abruptly.

the warmed hand will feel cold since it's being *cooled* to room temperature by room-temperature water (it's like you walk out of a hot bath. you feel cold)

the cold hand will feel warmed by the room-temperature water (it's like you're cold in the Winter and you walk into a warm house)
