hi
i never looked for them but i always knew they were there. that seems to be the number one place that boys put there mag, it is the nature of a boy to be curious i would leave it there and hope that if he had any questions that the book could not provide he would ask me . but my children and i have a relationship like that and they know that they can ask me any thing and i will do anything and everything i can to help them find themselves.

Haha, that's totally normal (and expected!) for a teenage boy to have Playboys stashed away somewhere! Honestly, I wouldn't freak at ALL...I wouldn't go looking for them either. I'd respect that aspect of my son's privacy. But also, I doubt he'd feel the need to stash them away in our house anyway...we're a very open family with a great sense of humor and we understand the nature of humans and human sexuality.
As it is, I have a 1 year old daughter and a 14 year old stepdaughter...no sons (yet, if ever), but even if I found Playboys in my girls' rooms when they're teens, I wouldn't freak. I'm a woman and have been reading Playboy since I was a teen. There's nothing wrong with it...they have really great articles to read (for real!) and the women are usually beautiful and confident and have GOALS for themselves and their future.
I hope that if your mom ever finds your mags, that she respects your privacy and respects your sexuality and just leaves it alone, or at least has an open-minded personality.

Been there and done that. Only I wish my son's magazine was a playboy. His magazine was female, just from the waist down and very explicit.
It didn't bother me, but it did give his dad an opportunity to talk to him about sex.
And by the way, that's not a very original hiding place. If you don't want it to be found, find a better one. Have fun!

I will let you in on a little secret....all kids hide stuff under the mattress and another little secret is ALL mom's look under there from time to time....because we have hid things there. Now as for what would I do if I found Playboy under there...well, I wouldn't be mad, I would want to know how you got them, and why you feel you need to look at them and hide them...I do know it is a part of growing up...I would also want to know your thought about women.

If I found them, I would talk to you about safe sex and try and leave it be. All young men and women masturbate and it's safer then having sex with another person, which you're too young to do.
I do look through my son's room, I'm a mom and it's my job to keep an eye out for any problems. A little playboy isn't a problem, drugs or alcohol is.

I have 2 sons and 4 daughters and my first question to any of my children that had something hidden is "Do you think it is appropiate to own?" and if you DO "Why is it hidden?"
Then I would sit down and talk to them about the sterotypes that are protrayed in the magazines and ask them why they think that type is worth looking at. They are trashy and not worth the paper they are printed on. People should be valued for more than how far they can spread their legs apart or how much sillacone they have implanted under their chest walls.
And for those that are going to attack my answer saying I am probably jealous, I am only 120 lbs after 6 babies. I don't expect that of everyone, I just expect people to be who they are, as they are. Not all made up and fake.

My son is not that age yet but I don't see myself snooping in his bedroom for stuff unless I have a suspicion that he is doing something to hurt/harm himself or someone else (ex. drugs, weapons).
Playboy magazines are normal though. I could never be mad at him for doing that.

well, in my case i would be happy that it's playboy, not playgirl. personally, i would not get upset, i would most likely put them back where i found them and get my husband or another male role model to have a chat with you about the 'birds and bees'. my sons are about 5 years away from this problem.
hopefully your mom is like me and you don't get grounded.

Lol its natural! What you are doing is not wrong.I sure if your mother found them she may be surprised, but I doubt she would get mad, unless she is a religious person with strong beliefs about this.I would not be mad.If that helps keep you from having sex at such an early age also, its a plus!
