i understand black history month, why isnt there a native indian history month?

Actually in the Army there is a native american indian month. I can't remember which month it is, I have been out of the Army since 2003, but yes there is one for them and Asians to. As a matter of fact, we had a run called the indian run when we do physical training and we can't call it that anymore.

Because the US would have to formally admit to the genocide of of over 25 million Native Americans and the resulting havoc policy has wreaked on the living Native Americans. We can't admit that our country was born in genocide, slavery and no vote for the powerless Indians, blacks and women. That would knock any remaining patina of righteousness off our rotten carapace right now wouldn't it? Never fear, though born in such outrageously squalorous spiritual conditions the will to evolve was there and our fledgling country did some really fine things before it fell back in its own excrement with pride.

It is a natural process for nations to follow and this one is no exception. It is foretold that this nation will rise out of its own ashes, its destruction, and become the leader in spirituality the world over. Get ready people because the birthing will be more painful than anything you can imagine. In California, the Native American Indian gets a week, not a month. However, they have museums and reservations all over the place. A lot of them travel around California all summer for pow-wows. We always had fun when we went.

Why not? I'm a black man whose father was Cherokee (Osiyo Unali i) to my brothers and sisters of the tribe! I don't have a problem with anyone celebrating their lineage or honoring their heritage! Why should I dishonor anyone's memory, and why should some of you racists brow beat both of mine?

I wondered this too, but I just pretty much summed it up to the fact that there are only 12 months in a year. We can't possibly have every group represented, and somehow African Americans made the cut. ;)
