I dislike both but at least Heaven, regardless of the beautiful symbolism, is honest and up-front about its inherent tackiness. Nevaeh, on the other hand, is a eughneike attempt at trying to jazz up an already messed up word-choice by, essentially, misspelling it so that they, the parents, can draw attention to themselves when people raise eyebrows upon introductions by saying, with complete confidence, out loud: "Oh, it's HEAVEN spelled BACKWARDS!" - as if that's something to be applauded, like it matters, or is really impressive, to anyone with an IQ above 2. Nevaeh generally appeals to the lowest common denominator, and not even its (to some) pleasing ghetto phonetics are enough to save it from its obvious blasphemy (any backwards form of Heaven equals Hell), so Heaven is definitely the lesser of two evils...

HATE this name with a passion. Why would you name you kid something that you have to explain every time you hear it. And, who even knows how to pronounce that aeh combo?
Instead of Nevaeh, these people really name their child "Nevaeh, Heaven spelled backwards". Because I have never heard the name on the child always the name plus the explaination.

So let me guess, the person who says they "totally agree" with you will get the "BEST ANSWER"...hmmm this is kind of a no-win situation....and I don't like saying a name sounds "trashy" that's going overboard. I agree that this name in controversial and overused, but not "trashy" sorry. Names like "Bluebell", "Tinkerbell" or "Poppy" I think of "strange and a bit "out-there". Yes, a lot of times people try to be "cool" with a new name and that tends to be very young mothers or people who do not understand that name needs to grow with a child. So your answer is: I agree and disagree....guess I won't get "Best Answer" oh well!

I don't really like it, and actually...most people don't know how to spell it, even if it is heaven backwards. Eight out of ten times I see it on this website it's spelled "Neveah." That would be Haeven backwards.
But no, it's not the WORST name. At least it means something, and whoever created it wasn't trying to get TOO creative....

I don't like it either. I know a girl named Heaven and she used Nevaeh for her daughters middle name...almost ok for that situation but I still don't like it.

I think it's more trailer park, than ghetto, but it is a terrible name. How do you pronounce it? Nee-vay, Ne-vuh, ne-Vay? I have seen some people say you pronounce it Ne-Vay-uh, but that is adding a syllable where none exists. It's a tragic name to saddle a child with.

If its spelled backwards then you can reverse the meaning. And we know that the opposite of Heaven is Hell.
Sadly not a good name.

Maybe not the worst, but it definitely sucks. Maybe cute the VERY first time it was used, but way over used now.
