does anyone know the 10 amendments and what they mean in a way you can understand. like the first one is the freedom of speech. so what are the other ones in an easier way to understand. thanks!

OK, here goes

1st Amendment: Freedom of Speech and Religion
2nd Amendment: Right to Keep and Bear Arms (Guns)
3rd Amendment: Government cannot house soldiers in your house
4th Amendment: Govt cannot Search you or your house without a warrant
5th Amendment: You have to be charged (indicted) by a grand jury before you can be tried for a capital crime. And You cannot be forced to testify against yourself. And you cannot be charged and/or tried twice for the same crime (double jeopardy)
6th Amendment: Everyone has right to a speedy trial by a jury of their peers. In that trial, they have the right to be informed of the accusations against them and to confront their accusers (any witnesses against them)
7th Amendment: In civil lawsuits where there is money at stake where that money amount exceeds $20 you must still have the right to a jury trial.
8th Amendment: No excessive bail, no excessive fines no excessive or cruel or unusual punishment
9th Amendment: None of the rights in the Constitution can be construed in a way to deny any other rights to the people
10th Any powers not given to fed government by the Constitution are given to the states or the people

p.s., there are a bunch more amendments but these are the first ten, more commonly referred to as the Bill of Rights

I had to take my constitution test a few months ago, so here's a little story my friends and I developed to help us remember the order and everything. (This is for all twenty-seven amendments though). Here it is:

The Rapp (freedom of religion, petition, press, etc) bear's arm quartered a troop, so he searched him while having a seizure; he was arrested for criminal proceedings, due process, and imminent domain. Criminal proceedings proceeded to a civil trial. Then he was punished for his crime, his power was reserved to the state! So he wore a suit to the state and elected the president and vice president. Then he felt bad for slaves and involuntary servitude, so he declared the rights of citizens. He used is right to vote even though he was of different race, color and servitude. He paid an income tax, then the senators were popular from elections. Liquor was prohibited, so he stated how suffrage was equal, for men and women. Then he commenced terms, talking about the sessions of congress, and what happens if the president dies. Then he stated how liqour was now allowed - he's drunk, so he forgot. Then he talked about presidential tenure, then talked about the electors for DC then said he has the right to vote in fed. elections, even if there's a tax payment. He talked about succeeding the pres. and talked about the vice pres being vacant. And what would happen if the pres. was unable to serve as a pres. Then he said how because he was 18, he could vote. And said he could congressionally pay. Then he died.

US constitution has more than 10 ammendments. I think you may be implying the Bill of Rights which contains the 10 rights guaranteed by the constitution.
