i think dharma Created the island, thats why no one can find the survivers.
OR
All the passengers are in some science experiment where they're in a coma, but they're minds are in a game, and "The others" are like referees!! and everything is Fake!

I think hurley is part of "the other" cause there was an episode where they showed everyone at the airport and you saw a few "others" WORKING as airport employee's...well Hurley was Working too!!!!

There are too many separate story lines for it to be a dream. For instance, if it was Jack's dream, why would he be dreaming about what happened between Kate and Sawyer in their escape, when most people only dream about themselves? That theory just doesn't add up.
I think that it started as an independent research program, discovered untapped power, and was "confiscated" for government use.

It's a giant research station
It's magnetic energy was used to power the site
but with the destroying of the hub that energy is free - bit like the ID on Forbidden Planet -
It's gained its personality from the survivers' memories - most of which seem quite violent

I don't think so either!There are so many theories about what it's all about,so many unresolved questions...it's so confusing!Every time I come to a conclusion,I realise that there are still questions to be answered...
