While Einstein was probably smarter, the intelligence differential wouldn't make up for Edison's utter ruthlessness.

Edison was just a pushy businessman and a workaholic (and a dogged self-promoter at that). not a very sharp guy. kind of a jackass, actually. i guess he used to buy stray dogs from kids for 25 cents and electrocute them to prove that his competetion, AC (alternating current), was dangerous. today we all use AC power.
