Something for Valentines day and you didnt even know he liked you? What if you dont like him? What would you say and not sound rude?

Obviously this is more than a friendly gesture. If you don't like him, just thank him for the card nicely and hope that he gets the message. Saying more than that might be rude. (Perhaps he posts the question, "What if I give a Valentine to a girl and she just says thank you?") A polite but simple thank you will suffice.

Just say thank you! Nothing else is required or appologize for not getting him something. It is a card it is not binding.
Just don't be rude. Maybe his first attempt at approaching a women and you could give him emotional scars for life.
One guy said that this girl threw it back in his face and said, "get a life" Like how dare you be nice to me.
I just don't think that was necessary. Miss Manners said to just say thank you and smile. Later you can explain to him if he carries it further that your not dating at the time but if you was he would be kept in mind. That lets him down easy and he can save face.
People do not have to be rude! Like in religious matters if someone gives you a pamplet or something just say thank you and take it. Say I am busy but appreciate your concern.
Don't we throw aways tons of mail we receive, what's the difference? Be nice.

There was a boy who liked me for a really long time, and I never knew it. But he gave me something on valentines and I gave him a hug and said thanks to be nice. I didn't like him like he wanted me to, but you don't have to be rude. Just a thanks and a smile would be good.

when he gives it to you just be like "oh....thanks" and make an uncomfortable look. Then walk over to a waste basket and throw it away that is casual, enough so he can see you do it, but subtly enough that it seems like you don't think he is watching.

Tell them that your parents dont want you to date, or you're taken already.

I agree. "Thank you" is the best response. I think the less said, the better.
