i'm black, the school i go to is dominantly white, but their are still some black people. its not that i am racist or anything(i am KNOW i'm not racist i am cool with the white people, but we dont really get that close to where we hang out after school or call each other or anything like that . now when im thinking about who can potentially end up to be my friend(hanging out after school and stuff) i usually dont think of anybody who isnt black. am iwrong?

It a black person thang!! Black people LOVE to be around black people. period. I go to a school full of Hispanic people and they are cool and everything but, I need some black people there too!!!! It don't think you are wrong cuz I feel the same way.

No, not at all. Despite the fact that we all want to think we accept EVERYONE we come across, the truth is, there is a subconscious barrier that was created when we were too young to even know what segregation, racism, or prejudice was. However, we did learn at a young age that some people are black, some people are white, some are tan, and even some people lack pigment all together (albinos). For the most part, we start off young identifying with people that are like ourselves. It's the foundation of accepting who you are and what you are.

There have actually been studies of this behavior many times over. Each time, a crowd of people who don't know anyone else in the room is told to just hang out for a bit. Meanwhile, slowly the people migrated into separate groups and sure enough, the majority of the groups were all one particular race. Mind you there were quite a few people mixed in with groups that weren't of their own race. Both behaviors are perfectly normal.

I don't think you are any less of a person for naturally feeling/thinking this way.

I wouldn't say you were exactly wrong but I think you are really cutting down on your choices by considering only black friends.

u r some wat right or wrong.i don't know.i am black too.when i first went to a school i thought it was mostly white ppl but most of them:girls date the black guys,i had a crush on a white boy but don't c much black gurls datin them and most of the white ppl act black and say they r.think of k fed.

Nah, you're not wrong. It's ok to have friends from diferent ethnicities.

nope but i feel like you need to broaden your horizens. Maybe they want to be friends with you but maybe feel like you have something against them. Open up!!!
