Hi. In spain they never ask for Id in clubs or bars. I am spanish and they have never aske me even when I was 14.
Although now the minimum alcohol purchasing and drinking age is 16 I have not heard of anyone who has been asked for an ID. You can drink in public even though it is against the law but it is a law whcih no one observes. The spanish system of social disobedience consist on so many people breaking those laws that go agains our traditions that the only way would be to through the whole population of Spain in jail. Drinking like traffic tickets which no one ever pays, is a general custom and no one respects these laws. Cops have more important things to do. Only watch your belongings because ther is certain amount of petit crime and theft .

Fuengirola has young people and action all year round and although it is true that there are older residents it is famous enough so we go ther in weekend and many young people live there too.

There are many bars, discotecas and night clubs were you can have a great. One thing to keep in mind that our tolerance towards alcohol is due to the fact that spaniards even when very drunk do not get violent or do specially stupid things in general since our culture considers that if you drink you must know how to drink and it is not manly or womanly to lost your personality because of drinking. Drinking in Spain is never considered an excuse to do anything stupid. The alcohol in bars, discos and stores is really chap and dosis are good, just make sure they do not give you garrafon, or famous brand alcohol bottles refilled with cheaper algohol. You can avoid this drinking beer, wine or Spanish alcohohols like brandy, rhum negrita or, gin ginebra larios, or even old spanish whisky named Dyc. Also there are carajillos- coffee with rhum or brandy and if you want strong stuff there are excellent firewaters or aguardientes of many flavours or straight wich can be up to 120 proof. Also anisette and chinchon are delicious and strong dry or sweet wines 21 degress are quite cheap llike finos, manzanillas, jerez etc

Have a good time and do not worry, but be civilized and no matter how much you drik maintain your pose

I would say that if you looked and acted old enough to drink then you shouldn't have a problem. Usually you are not asked for ID in Spain
One of the most important things to know is the law on alcohol. In Spain, the minimum purchasing and drinking age for alcohol is 16. However, those under the age of 16 may purchase beer or wine if accompanied by their parents. You might be surprised to know that national laws typically make no reference to drinking inside the home, referring instead to external premises such as bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and off-licenses. This generally means that a child may drink an alcoholic beverage, at the discretion of the parents, inside the home.
Fuengirola at this time of year usually attracts the older generation and this is for a couple of reasons, the area is fairly flat so it is easier for people with mobility difficulties to get about, also it is warmer than the UK and cheaper so many come to stay for a few months at a time. That's not to say that there are no young people there, there are plenty though obviously not as many as the summer months bring.
There are lots of bars, discos and night clubs in Fuengirola so you should have a good time. One thing I would add is that the spirit measures are more than double that of the UK so its very easy to get drunk Take care of your valuables and yourself and you should be ok
