I regret reading your question. I could have used the time to make a cup of coffee.

Of course I have regrets. I don't think regrets are a reflection on my decisions as much as they are a reflection on the level of compassion I feel for others I have impacted negatively in my life.

Some things to think about:

Have you ever made a decision through inaction (e.g. you could have called a friend and apologized and simply didn't)?

Does not having all the facts when you're making a decision make it so you don't have to feel any regret at all regardless of what happens to others as a result of your ill-informed decision?

Meaning no disrespect to you, I think you are looking at life a little like it's going to give you a black-and-white report card at the end showing how many times you were justified in your actions. But life is about relationships and bettering yourself and making a difference in lives. In order to do that you have to take risks and you will be wrong sometimes. If you have no regrets, then either you're not trying or you don't care what happens to others.

Of course i have regrets in my life. Things are never as simple as right and wrong. Sometimes i may of made a right decision in my life but it may result in a future regret. We all have wronged someone before in our lives even if it was not intention which causes us as humans to regret something(words, actions). To regret something is not a bad thing it actually can be a learning experience to understand yourself better and others. If i never regretted something does that mean i was never wrong? Admitting to being a human is the first step in becoming a better human.

It is possible to have regret at one time, but to rescind that regret at a later point based on more information and understanding.

Regret is pointless, as it is based on wishing the past had been different, which condition cannot now occur. A fleeting "Oh, I wish I hadn't done that" probably doesn't cause long-term damage, and is a useful reference for later decisions, but hanging on to regret is futile and damaging. I regret that I have held on to regrets for far longer than was useful.

Now I understand what I did, what I learned and move on.

I regret dating the wrong person. The consequences were I wasted 9 years with him. Of course it wasn't a total waste. We went to Europe & I got a kick-a$$ home theatre out of the deal...I can't really regret anything. Even the mistakes had their valuable lessons.

I do regret not telling a friend that I loved him the last time I saw him. I didn't know it was the last time. That was beyond my control...

Anyone who has no regrets hasn't really lived. And anyone who says they don't is lying. It's like people who tell you they don't care what others think. It is just a facade to hide their obvious pain. I feel sorry for those self-deluded souls.
I will say though that I have more often regretted something I didn't do than the things I did do. I'm not sure what that means exactly, but it is the truth.

The only regrets I have is not appreciating the time I had to spend with people who are no longer here.

I don't have regrets, either. I've made amends to people I've hurt and have accepted the fact that I can't change things that have already happened, even if I'd really like to.

None whatsoever.

Happily, I can say that I never made any egregious choices, and all the other little stuff doesn't matter enough to warrant me carrying it in my backpack along the road of Life.
