Get some size medium men's, white t-shirts and scribble paint of all colors. Give each child a shirt and set the paints in the middle of an old plastic table cloth spread on the floor(or something that will protect the floor). Let the kids set all around the table cloth and paint whatever they want on the shirts. It was always great fun for my boys and their friends. They could wear the shirts during the day at the beach or pool or as night shirts.

I used to work for the YMCA camp we did a lot of arts and crafts with kids. One thing that we did that the kids and ourselves loved was making haky sacks. You use balloons and sand. You take and cut out shapes on balloons except one. The one you don't cut you fill to desired amount of sand. Then you tie it and cover it with the cut balloons putting the cuts at different places. Oh yeah you cut the tit part off the balloons except the first one to be tied.

Coffee Filter Butterfly
Get some coffee filters and clothes pins and cups of water with food coloring in them. Using an eyedropper for each color squeeze colored water onto coffee filters making different designs. Let the filters dry. Draw eyes or glue wiggle eyes onto clothespins. When filters are dry then bunch them up in the middle and clip clothespin to make butterfly.

Depends on the age of the child. The older they are, the more detail-oriented you can get. Younger preschool age children love to color, paint, glue, use stickers/sequins/feathers/glitter. Elementary age would like painting/paint by number, macrame, clay, drawing. Middle and high school age enjoys drawing, painting, woodworking, clay, model building, sewing, needlecrafts.
