I don't know if I have one, but i have yellowy-green discarge and i mean sometimes there is so much that it soaks through. & there are these weird black specs in my discharge too. The smell is horrible, realllly strong fishy odor, and sometimes I am itchy down there. Also is there a way if i had it that I could treat it without going to the doctor, I have a fear of the doctors and would like to avoid it but I will go if I need to. & is a yeast infection fatal? Please no mean answers...

If it is that bad, you'll have to go to the gyno. All the Dr. will do is swab for yeast and in minutes he'll let you know, then give you and ORAL pill which is MUCH less messy than the OTC yeast infection treatments, and about the same price. You can get OTC meds. and see if you feel better, but you should definately see a Dr. before you misdiagnose yourself when something else could be wrong. If you let a yeast (or any vaginal) infection go too long, I'm pretty sure it can have damaging effects on the reproductive system...

You need to go to the doctor. Sometimes treating this as a yeast infection might just help with the itching but not stop the infection. Cervical cancer and also not being able to have children could result of this not being treated correctly. Check it out first GO TO THE DOCTOR. It will be important for your health this is just as an assumption on your part that it is an yeast infection and if treated with over the counter drugs it will not be treated For the right thing. Do not be embarrassed and go to the doctor. Woman to Woman!!!!!

You really need to go to the doctor and get a culture. I don't think you have a yeast infection. Regardless if it yeast that way you will be able to get the medicine that is best for the yeast infection you have.
I think you need to check for a STD.

You can try over the counter yeast infection treatment, however it sounds like you need something stronger. Flagil taken by mouth is a prescription you may need. Put your fears aside & see a GYN. You do not want to mess with an infection. It's not fatal but you do need treatment as it will only get worse.

Good luck..

A yeast infection is not fatal, but what you have does not sound like one. Yeast infection discharge is usually a cloudy white color or it can be see-through, but I've never heard of it being yellow-green.

Also, yeast infections are not accompanied by a foul smell. They usually smell of yeast or bread.

It looks like you might have Trichomonas, which involves "foamy, yellow-green foul-smelling discharge."

I'm not sure what the treatment for this would be. I think, unfortunately, that your best bet is to see a doctor. I doubt you're going to die, but you don't want the infection to worsen.

Hi. I don't know if you have a yeast infection because in my experience they have a yellow/white discharge and smell like baked bread. It shouldn't be hard to see a dr and you may just be seen by the nurse anyway to do the swab part.
