In 1986 there was no BEAGUE, but there was a league, only correcting in case this is a trick question. it was as u suggest the VFL , AFL came into being in 1990. Hawthorn was the gun side in the 80's, so hopefully they cheated the cheat's(Carlton ) for the flag .
