The treatment of native Canadians in the past was unfair but the current land claims cost taxpayers so much money. If there was a time limit on Natives attempting to reclaim land perhaps it would help all of us move forward and work on better solutions for Native communities in Canada.

There can't legally be time limits on land claims, since the claims themselves rest on original sovereign treaties between the Crown and First Nations.

Aside from that legal reason, time limits would be inherently unfair to First Nations. A quick review of history could show you how our court system has shafted them over and over again. Think about it: what did they get for the land your home is on?

Fair compensation takes time. Rushing such a complex process would not lead to better solutions -- certainly not for First Nations. It'd lead to mistakes all our grandkids would have to fix later.

No. There should be no limitation on cultural genocide!! You can however start working on solutions now regardless. And not having land or the use of cultural practices costs Native people money and more than that!
