With his blatant disregard for being honest should he resign now or would it be better if he came clean ?

I think everyoen is missing the point on this question, I don't care if he smoked cannabis or not, the question is why lie and refuse to answer the question when it is quite blatantly obvious that he did smoke it. The question asked is not whether it is right or wrong for him to have smoked cannabis ? The actual question is why can't he give an honest answer to whether he did or not ? If he can lie now, what is the hope for a conservative goverment ?

Not before Tony Blair resigns for his blatant disregard for being honest. If you need reminding, the dodgy property deals with a known fraudster, an illegal war, cash for honours, underhand taxes on virtually everthing we do - should I go on. Makes David Cameron's joint smoking 20 years ago a little bit insignificant now doesn't it?

Yep he should and take that idiot Osbourne with him. I want to vote for a political party that will do things to solve issue and Labour are the only ones that have done anything. Osborne this morning has said that there could be a run on the pound - well what would he do differently? He forgets to mention that - perhaps because he doesn't know. Yes we are in recession (or very close to it) but if we had done nothing over the last 6 weeks or so we would be in a lot more trouble. If he is your greatest ever leader you can kiss goodbye to Government ever again and look forward to years and years of opposition - The man has not come up with one policy that will help hard pressed working families in the UK in the last 2 months. That is why Brown has clawed back a 13% deficit

Well, he COULD resign, but then, so could the stupid journalist who considers a childhood a topic of grown-up political comment.

Would a SERIOUS JOURNALIST also include details of bed-wetting, comparing willy size with a friend, peeping under a girl's skirt or trying out a cigarette or a glass of whisky for the first time?

THIS they call news, when it is just a report about children being children.

When that sort of thing is passed off as serious journalism, it says a lot more about the standards of the journal than it does about the person who is the target for such "shock revelations."

I think it is nonsense to say he should resign. I expect that most people today have had some contact with cannabis, and it makes him more in contact with younger people. If we insist that all politicians are whiter than white, never had sex outside marriage, never smoked or drunk when they shouldn't, or done anything a bit wild when young, you will end up with someone like George Bush

I think he would have been more credible if he had just come out and admitted it. After all, he went to Eton, where smoking pot is probably on the curriculum.

In the big scheme of things though, does it matter?

A bigger issue is his lack of transparency over Tory funding. Even some Tory activists are lobbying to know from which countries the money came for for the Tories to buy their HQ building in London.

ok normality check... have you been around or smoked weed? I can say that we probably all have at some time... For god sake even Clinton said that he was around it, but didn't inhale, (and so it was with monica, she didn't inhale either) but this besides, at the time the allegation took place several others were involved, found gulity and subsequently explelled, Mr Cameron was NOT. This is just Sunday jounalism at it's worst. If he was guilty at the time he would have been kicked out of school too.

In comparison to the deeds of Mr Blair...smoking bit of cannabis 25 years ago hardly seems to be important.

He should have resigned ages ago. Bring back Michael Howard, Cameron is a Blair in disguise!

No I think we should give him a chance. Even politicians deserve that. However as to his leadership qualities, I think the country would not be in safe hands if he had power. But he will be better than Blair.

No - he hasn't lied or denied. Nobody cares anyway. He smoked a spliff 20 years ago - big deal.
