In modern times, more Democrat presidents have been nicotine addicts. That's funny, cuz it's Democrats that most criticize companies that sell nicotine products.

Not only is America addicted to the nicotine tax, the nicotine tax is a punitive tax aimed only at people that that smoke. The taxes intent is to punish smokers by increasing the taxes on cigarettes . Where I live (California) we have had two separate taxes added to a pack of cigarettes, the first tax was $0.25 per pack, this money was given to doctors and for educational purposes to oppose smoking. A couple of year later they added another tax of $0.50 per pack, that tax would be split up between the counties and required additional staff to determine how to spend the money. When the original $0.25 tax was on the election ballot there was also a proposition to increase the taxes on alcohol, wine taxes were to go up by $0.03 per barrel and other forms of alcohol was to increase $0.02 to $0.05 per barrel. The tobacco tax passed, barely, the alcohol tax was defeated 5 to 1. I am addicted to nicotine, I started smoking when I was 12 years old and have been smoking for 48 years. When smoking in public places was legal, I never smoked while sitting in a restaurant unless the person next to me lit up first and I always held my cigarette down to my side away from people that were approaching me so as to not disturb them. I would love to see what would happen if everyone quit smoking and these tax dollars just suddenly disappeared.

Well, I can't dislike a person for that. I'm not certain which Past Presidents smoked because it was never done in view of the public. I think the last one I saw smoking was Eishenhour (I may have misspelled his name). Then, it was before he became President...and when he was still a general in the military. Now THERE was a good President. You had to have lived then to know how very respectable and honorable a man he was.

I don't know, but Bush is alcohol addicted and currently using! And has done things like cocaine, actually got busted for possession in Texas and had to serve "community service" that his father arranged. Ironically, those public records are now sealed. Our 1st president who was a criminal before he took office!

Its completely irrelevant and honestly not our business. Aren't there more important things to worry about than whether or not he chooses to smoke?

It is hilarious that so many posters here use it as a superficial excuse to bash others. And guess what, the majority of the bashers are the usual liberal haters. Is that all the liberal party is about, hatred?

There is no proof that Bill Clinton used cocaine, but Clinton did smoke cigars. I don't know if he was addicted.

But more importantly, if Obama does not have enough sense to take care of his own body, how can he be trusted to take care of a nation???
