My set up is a wired desktop with win98 and a wireless laptop with XP using a Linksys Router. I have 2 printers configured to the desktop (one USB and one older laser with an older serial port). From the laptop is there any way to send documents to either of these printers? Note, neither of the printer drivers are on the laptop. Thanks so much.

The first step would be to "Share" the printers by right-clicking on them and choose Share.

You then need to be able to access the Win98 system from the laptop by going to Start > Run > \\ComputerName (= to the Win98 PC name)

From there you should be able to Printer & Faxes on that system to access the shared printers.

You will mostly likely need to install the printer drivers for it to work properly.

I don't know about win98, but if you had Xp on the desktop you could setup the printer for sharing, install the printer software on the laptop, then print away.

Yes, you can print to either or both printers. On the desktop you will need to enable the printers to be shared. You can do this when you set up your systems as a home network using the network wizard. Then add the printers to your laptop as a network printer.

Create a sharing folder on your pc and make confident the two desktops are on the comparable community (making use of the comparable connection). OR Write the products to a penchronic. Or e mail them to your self.
