Women: How do you feel about guys that write poetry?

Er... to be honest, most of the famous poets that I can think of off the top of my head are male. T.S. Eliot, Walt Whitman, Alfred Tennyson, George Byron, William Shakespeare, Persy Bysshe Shelley, Robert Frost... there's more whose names are escaping me. :)

I honestly don't read a lot of poetry--I really don't care for it--but I think, with GOOD poetry, the gender of the creator rarely affects its greatness.

I think that it is great when a guy writes poetry. It show the true feelings of a person instead of some bullshit. But, when I am going to write a poem for most guys they say it is lame. That hurts.

What do you mean, am I offend when poems are wrote by men or do I think men must know how a women feels when they write poetry? Writing poetry is like writing songs, and well my fourth boyfriend thought he was god's gift to women cause he was in a band, I'll tell you that I wouldn't pee on his teeth if his gums were on fire. That is how nice I am. So, in coclusion, men whom write poetry is either trying to get in a girls pants by what they wrote or are slowly getting eating alive by their own words. {I know doesn't make sense, sorry.}

I think it's fine...I took a trip once, via bus, sat beside a soldier...this is what he did to get himself through things. Had some great work and was a great guy. Never know when that one poem will be an important one to more than just the writer.

depends on the poetry....but generally its a sign of the guys inner self...so its great...

it can be sweet the first few times but then if the poems are a constant thing and really well written it can become kinda wierd

Depends if its really sappy stuff designed purely to impress girls, I dont like it. But if it is really about their emotions and how they feel then thats fantastic.

It's really sweet as long as you don't go over board with it and it can also show that you are in touch with your emotions
