It means absolutely nothing to me until I see some policies from him. All we have so far are sound-bites, which puts him some way behind all the other declared candidates.
As a recent immigrant my first Presidential election will be in 2008 (I hope). If Sen. Obama wants my vote he might want to explain why he is worth it.

I voted for him before and I'd vote for him again. He's the most reasoned voice I've heard amongst a morass of shrill politicos from both sides of the aisle.
And since he's a former Constitutional law professor, I can be sure that at least ONE person in Washington has read that thing.

I like the guy. He's a breath of fresh air. The rest of the candidates on both sides come with so much baggage.... especaily Hillary,... whose brilliant husband was confused about the definition of the word " IS". Whitewater is still out there floating around. Then there's Rudy's stand on abortion and gay marriages. McClain.... yak. yak. yak. Edwards... been there, done that, not enough ammunition. It will be interesting to see it all unfold when the mudslinging begins. Will the average American see any beneficial change in his/her daily life.... no way, unless your name is Jose.

Sure is right for a February start but I don't think he is one I would vote for. He was on Oprah and she actually asked him why he could not run and said if he would she would pay for it. Her money brought him from unknown to one of the front runners. I have no intention of voting for anyone wholly owned by ms. Oprah and whose name is only one letter away from Osama. Just seems like a bad twist of fate to me.

I sincerely wish him luck. I am not a democrat and will not vote democratic no matter what. However, on the chance that we end up with a democratic president, he is a far better choice than Hillary.

It's a year and a half till the election. The fact that he announced it in February is interesting though.
