It is sad when anti-Witnesses work to demean and misrepresent Jehovah's Witnesses.

Yes, I did. It is indeed a hard one. I don't agree with the beliefs but at the same time it isn't fair for others to tell that that they are wrong or immoral because those things really are a matter of opinion. I think what bothered me about the father was how he was viewing it, to me he came off more concerned about what others would think of them than what this would mean for his son, even along religious lines...like he was more worried about being shunned and upsetting others in their religion than the fact his son would be out casted/deemed unsure.

I watched it,it made for quite uncomfortable viewing in my opinion,I realise that people have a right to follow a certain religion and live life the way they choose, and i respect that,i have a distant relative who is a jehovahs witness, but as a parent of two,i cant understand how ANY mother can choose to let her child die, even if it is gods will.

Yeah, I saw it. I had JW's as neighbours for several years, they were very good caring people.

When we left they gave us a copy of their bible and said it was the best gift they could think of to give to us. So, for that reason, that bible and the way in which it was given is very special to us.

However, I don't go along with many of their ideas. I also think that when a blood transfusion is necessary, if you are an adult and you are making the choice for yourself, then fair enough but children should be given every chance....so I disagree with that part.

I also don't go along with any religion that tries to isolate itself from interacting closely with people not of their faith. What is there to be afraid of?

Anyway, each to their own.

Yes I certainly did see that episode.

It's a difficult one. They don't accept Blood transfusions because it is seen that the body is contaminated. So surely eating food and meat is contaminating them aswell...
Yes if it were me I'd do anything to save my son and if that meant dying to save his life then I would do it.

I think it is disgusting that a family would be shunted in such a situation. I mean how would the others know? If they didn't tell them they would be ok surely?

Why on Earth did they bring the rabbit with them? In our hospitals that would not have been allowed. They are supposed to be realistic to real hospitals!!!!

I think the mother cared more for the boy than his father did. His father only thought about his reputation.

I have come across many people with this religion. But still anything they say to me, has flaws in it, and just doesn't help me at all.

If he was any sort of a father he would have lay beside his son on the table and let his son have his blood. He probably woud have died himself but that's your child. I would sacrifice my life in a heart beat for my child.

yes i saw it...it echoes arguments i have had with my own mother...shes jehovas witness..i decline...but if she was ill ive always said id have to adhere to her wishes and too her religion..it galls me tho..i always say well what if i died and she was our only living relative...if she became ill and needed a blood transfusion too survive..if she was the sole carer of her 1 yr old grandson would she agree to it to guarantee survival so he wouldnt be an orphan...she said no and do u know what i said ??
