I liked the book and the movie. They are both pure storytelling -- nothing pretentious about them. But they are not *deep* stories but King doesn't pretend to write those type of stories -- he writes for fun and if he can also express the meaning of life, even better.

i hated stephen king for the longest time until someone forced me to read the dark tower series and rediscovered and fell in love with his writing. misery is indeed a great book, if you're into stephen king type books, which are good books.

I've never seen the movie, but I can tell you the book was not one of Stephen King's better ones.
