I was once told that if he lies and nobody gets physically hurt and he doesn't cheat on you than "don't sweat the small stuff". Any woman who has a hubby who plays sports knows what I'm talking about. Just gotta go & drink with the guys afterwards. Sports and drinking go hand-in-hand. Should I let it slide - AGAIN?

Everyone is guilty of telling a lie. How others handle that is entirely up to them.

I think everyone tells little lies at some point (like, mmm, that burnt dinner you made was really good!!). Those aren't the one's to worry about. If he's lied to you about something, you found out, it upset you, and he continues to lie about it, that is when you should start to worry. If he doesn't care enough that something bothers you, even something little, who's to say he's not lying about other things? I found out that for 5 yearsmy husband had been lying to me about something that wasn't terribly important, he knew he could've told me the truth, but didn't. I caught him in his lie, and this caused a huge fight and a loss of trust on my part. It's very hard to regain trust completely, and knowing this was something he didn't have to lie to me about, but did anyways, really hurt. Talk to your husband, let him know you'd appreciate the truth. He needs to know he can tell you the truth without you getting upset (providing it's not a big deal). Don't just let it slide, though, it'll eat away at your trust for him and you may not be able to get it back.

i am currently in the same situation.I'm 100% sure that my hubby is not cheating on me,but he is always hanging with his friend drinking and coming home late.At the begining i never nagged him about it,i said to myself i know hes not cheating on me,and after 12 hrs of day working he needs a break. After cutting him some slack,it became a habit,he'll be coming home in the morning drunk and throwing up,then he will not have time for me or the kids.Right now we are having problems about it.I have threatened to take the kids and leave if this continues, cuz to me i felt like he's choosing to have fun,and not think about me.I don't think u should let it slide again.i've did it feeling sorry for him,but then u'll be having the problems and its not worth it.Good Luck!

He must have a reason for lying. Do you get in a fight whenever he tells the truth about where he is going? If you give him the freedom he needs to be able to do what he wants to do, he will not feel like he needs to lie. I believe you should bring this up. Think about why he would need to lie first.

For example: if you guys do fight whenever he wants to do this one thing after work, but he tells you he is going to get a drink with the guys then tell him honestly that you are sorry that you fight with him about this but it makes you feel like...
Communication is key in ANY relationship.

Nope, there should be no lieing. Don't let him get by with it, would he let you by with it if you got caught lieing no matter how small? Lieing is not a small problem, that is a big one. How do you know he isn't lieing about the big stuff too? This problem causes major trust issues.

Well in my case I will lie to my women if I think that she will have a spaz attack if I tell the truth. So if you want him to lie less then be more understanding. Just my two cents
