I'm currently studying Congress and it's organization, it's members, it's committees and etc. I'm having trouble locating this answer in the text and notes. Anybody with a good knowledge of Government that could help out? It would be very much appreciated. Thanks! :-)

I believe the reason you aren't finding corroboration for your theory is because I don't think that we have become more partisan. We humans often think the present is superlative in some way, either negative or positive, merely because we are in the middle of it. Our memories tend to blur the details of the past, making it seem more neutral.

In the 70's we had Watergate. Do you really think they were less partisan? In the 1860's we had the Civil War. Again, do you really think they were less partisan?
