If they wanted to sue you, they would already have done so.

That is, assuming that this letter you recieved is legitimate from NBC. This is quite possible if you were downloading TV episodes.

Apparently, you aren't the first person to get such a letter. Scroll down to near the end of this article: http://askbobrankin.com/download_with_bittorrent.html

You might want to contact your Internet Service Provider about this. I don't know of any private individual who has heard from a television network demanding a cease and desist. If such a thing is legitimate, then your Service Provider would have had to provide information about you to NBC.

This sounds really, really strange! There are literally thousands of people downloading movies at any given time using uTorrent, Limewire, Morpheus, etc. Why you? Did you give your real name, mailing address, etc., to anyone? One of the people who answered suggested you call the numbers given on the letter and ask to speak to the person who signed the letter. I'm thinking this is a scam, but you should check it out, for sure!

Does anyone else use your computer? A roommate, family member, mom, dad, kid brother-sister, etc. I'd sure call whoever sent the letter and verify who they are and why it's being sent to you.
