I have a hard time understanding your problem.
Did you marry without love, or did love go away. It matters.

When I was going out with my "to be wife" I didn't love her, but I instictively know, she was someone I could live the rest of my life with and love was not necessary on my part. I think we were married about 15 years before I could honestly say I loved her.
Remember now, I always liked her, we had fun, I respected her, but not love in my way of looking at it. So I didn't marry for love but found I had it at 15 Years

Did It Last, Don't know, It's only been 37 years so far

Hope this is you, but if you were in love and aren't now, I don't give you too much hope.

I am in the exact same position. I care about my husband, I respect him, he's a great person, but there is no passion. Mine will also not get counseling, and I am struggling with this. I think being friends and having that respect for one another, truly liking one another is what will allow a marriage to last. Is that enough for some people to keep them happy? I don't know. I also want to feel passion and excitement, although those will fade with time. I think in a perfect world we would be able to have both, but it seems to me we have to make a choice. Friend and companion for life, or passion and excitement for a short time with many different people.

Perhaps your bond when you married was more lust than love and the hard truth has begun to rear it's ugly head.Happens alot.
