I heard the movie Convenant was based on a book, is this true?

heard the movie Convenant was based on a book, one that was actually good.

Movies are not usually as good as the book and if a 'great' movie based on a book, the book probably isn't that great.

Based on that, I figure if the movie sucked that bad, the book must be pretty good.

Anyone know if the movie is based on a real book?
