No, in America, black males and white males get the same educational privileges. You are stereotyping, there are just as many white people as there are black people in prison. If people are in prison, they did something to get there, they didn't go there because of what they look like. And there are some extremely smart people in prison, who lack common since and conscience. Don't generalize, it's not right, it's like saying "guilty until proven innocent".

I don't think education has anything to do with it. It has more to do with the values embraced by the black community in general. They don't emphasise education. They don't emphasise family. They don't emphasise the value of hard work. What they do emphasise is violence, sex, and entitlement. I don't see how any child could come out a culture like that and NOT be some kind of social deviant, regardless of his race.

The black community needs to re-evaluate its priorities and place emphasis on positive values that are conducive to success if they want their people to stay out of prison and stop killing each other. They are so dysfunctional it isn't even funny.

Environment. And social pressure to be "black enough" are probably more plausible reasons behind blacks going to prison than anything else. If a black male tries to better himself by going to college or getting and keeping a job then he's accused of trying to be "like whitey". He's not "black enough". It's a shame we can't all just live and let live isn't it? I feel black racists have done more to hurt racial harmony than anything white people are doing at this point in history.

NO, going to prison is a result of personal decisions. They are in jail because many of them are common criminals! There are no one telling them not to get a good education, this is just another excuse! The easy answer is because almost 200 years ago their ancestors were slaves11

There are just as many whites, and other races in prison too. I think if kids aren't given proper guidance in their young lives, then they will turn to their friends and the street. Parents need to make a special effort to try to get their children involved in school and getting a job. Laziness is the reason.

No, you'd be surprised how intelligent a lot of young black males are who still end up in prison. They are just misguided. It stems from upbringing and social/economic issues.

There are so many socio-economic, socio-political reasons why our prisons are full of black men it would take a book to explain it.

I'll tell you like I tell most white people...If you're really interested in why black men are in the situation they are in in America, go do some reading at your local library, take a night course on African-American culture & society at your local junior college or google some of your questions.

Social and economic pressures are as, if not more, important than race in social deprivation. It's the old nature verses nurture debate.

unfortunately the vast majority of black children are raise without a father in the home......anyone with a brain can connect the dots:)
