And why would you watch it for the commericals. They're not that good.

It is boring!! I would rather watch paint dry than watch a bunch of guys run around in tight uniforms and smacking each other on the azz.Whats the point?

The Superbowl is turning more and more into a spectacle, rather than a sporting event.
I can imagine Superbowl 84, a couple big concerts and maybe a circus in there, with a little bit of football in there somewhere. Not to mention 2 full hours of advertising... or more.
I wonder what would happen if there were NO opening ceremonies, and the Superbowl was all about the game, no entertainment fillers like a concert in between or million dollar ads. Would people still want to watch the Superbowl if it was JUST the game, nothing else?
The Superbowl is probably the flashiest sporting event here in North America. You don't see that kind of thing in the NBA or the NHL.

A lot of people love football, and I mean a lot. It is by far surpassed baseball as the most watched sport. People usually care more about the game then the hype. The commercials in '07 were a bit lame, but some of these best are quite recent! I will still watch!
The halftime show is what I could care less about.

I think it has evolved into a un-official holiday that give people an excuss to eat and drink. Unless your team is playing in it then most of the time it is boring.
And yeah the commericals are getting a little lame.

the only while the Bears beat the Pats. The Patriots have been damaging (all you're able to be able to desire to understand is Tony Eason became their commencing QB!!) and that that they had no hazard to even compete against the Bears. This game became over by using the top of the 1st quarter.

I find the Super Bowl pretty entertaining! I think if you enjoy football, you'll enjoy the superbowl, and if you don't like watching football, none of the extra stuff involved with the superbowl will make it any better..

People watch the superbowl because they like football and are interested in watching the two best teams in the country play in a championship game.

I don't know. I could care less about the Super Bowl...or the World Series for that matter. Most stick and ball sports are boring to watch. Rather play them myself.

For you football is boring. I love it! Peyton Manning is awesome!
As for the 1/2 show & commercials, they USED to be awesome. This year almost ALL ads sucked. Not one made me laugh out loud. Hopefully they'll get a REAL musician for 1/2 time, and ad agencies will get back to being "creative"

people watch the superbowl for many reasons. For example, some see it as an oppurtunity to get together with their friends, others want to see their hometeam, and some watch it becuase it is tradition. As for the commercials. the superbowl is when all the new commercials air, and people like to see them right when they first come out.
