What's wrong with the battery? I know if you lose the alternator, the battery will die and you will need a jump, go for a bit, and need another jump. I believe Advanced Auto will check the battery and alternator to see if one is bad. I think they check the Alternator first because that suppliments battery power when driving. Call the closest parts place and see what they will do for you. The instalation is simple depending on the Make and model. With my car, a 2006 Toyota Prius, the battery is located in the hatchback near the spare tire. There is also a second battery pack under the back seats and is another pain to get access to. Anyways, any garage can do the work, it's who will do it the cheapest for you.

Sears, the dealer, most auto parts stores (Pep Boys, Auto Zone), some tire stores (Firestone), the gas station, etceteras. Check around for the best price and the longest warranty and make a decision based on what you can afford and how long you expect to keep the car.

Wal-Mart, Autozone, most any place where you buy it, if they will not install it, but from someone who will install it.

A garage.

Or you could do it yourself. Just got to remove the old one and replace the cable in the same order
(I.e. DO NO put "+" to "-" or vise versa!)
