I'm never organized and this is beginning to be a problem. But whenever I try to get more organized I can't get rid of bad habits, like pilling junk on my desk, or leaving paper lying around my room. This is also reflecting on my computer; I'll have 20 files on my desktop that I don't know what to do with, or I never empty my trash folder. I can't seem to find a system that works for me, and I'd really like to be more organized.

The system is that you have to do a bit of cleaning up every day. When you are finished with a file, you have to place it in a certain pile and commit yourself to file it before you go home at the end of the day. Organize pending and new issues so you know the difference and make sure you piles move everyday. If you work best left to right, then let all of your work begin left and when it is completed, end up on the right end of the table and file it when there is a lul in your work. Try it. Same with the trash folder. Put in a command that it empties everytime you turn off your computer. That may help.
