I'm trying to settle an argument between me and my brother, in a fight who would come out on top, Superman or Wolverine.

This is a tricky one because both are very evenly matched here.

Superman, as expressed in several of these questions and answers has several weaknesses. Magic, Kryptonite and Power Reserves are the biggest. The longer the fight, the less power he has left and more likely he will need a recharge, thus why Doomsday was able to kill him.

Wolverine is a mutant with an amazing healing factor that survived having adamantium grafted to his bones in a process that would have killed a normal human, or for that matter a mutant with a lesser healing factor.

Superman has many advantages here: super speed, super strength, freezing breath, flight as well as invulnerability and healing powers. He can also survive in the vacuum of space with little to no aid.

Wolverine is a skilled fighter in many forms of earthly styles and is a very determined fighter.

If we look at Justice League Unlimited’s series finale where Superman faced Darkseid, we see that Superman from time to time will go full power if he knows his opponent can survive it. Superman will immediately see the Adamantium, and know the claws are coming. If Wolverine is unaided, he will not have the speed or jump boosts that his teammates can give him (the fastball special) so he is limited in how far he can go. Superman can easily beat Wolverine by freezing him or knocking him unconscious since he is not invulnerable, just able to heal.

My scenario focuses on Superman and Wolverine fighting in a common ground with the powers at hand and no aid. Sure, if Wolverine had Kryptonite he could weaken Superman, or if they were under a Red Sun he could weaken Superman. However, in the Marvel Universe there is no such thing as Kryptonite, and even though Reed Richards or other brains in Marvel U. Could make something with the same radioactive properties if they knew the energy readings, I am not thinking that would enter a fight.

Superman is stronger and faster than Wolverine. Wolverine is still human under his mutant powers, he can be knocked out cold and since Superman will be able to read his regenerative powers and adamantium from his X-Ray vision, Wolverine will get a beating unlike any he has ever taken.

This is also not going down who might be more evil at the time, as that changes things even more drastically.

For a even quicker battle, we could pit Wolverine against Superboy of Earth Prime, in which case Wolverine would be dead in seconds seeing as Superboy of Earth Prime is on par with Superman pre-crisis’s strength.

This is probably the dumbest question ever asked in the history of yahoo answers... The answer is so obvious, OBVIOUSLY superman would win, why? Because all he needs to do is fly a save distance away frm wolverine and laser beam him. And if that doesn't work (But im pretty sure it will) then superman can start picking up the heaviest and biggest sh!t he can find at toss it at wolverine and squish him... end of story

Doomsday proved that Superman's invulnerability has its limits
Wolverine won't quit till he's dead.
Supes could melt the adamantium, but the healing factor would repair any structural damage, eventually purge the molten metal.

As i often say in any Superman Vs. _________ fight, it comes down to who's the good guy and who's the bad guy.

Good Supes would never give it 100%, for fear of killing people
Evil Supes would fly him into space and let the vacuum take its toll, and leave him there

Good Wolvie would call in the Xmen for back up, if only to make it a lumberjack match, and Chuck would send someone to find Kryptonite.

Evil Wolvie would keep hacking and slashing until he drew blood, then rip open the body crawl inside and gut him from the inside out.

I know I'll regret saying this in the long run, but I'm gonna have to give it to Wolverine. Superman fought Lobo to a standstill, and Lobo is nothing but a cheap knock off. Wolverine would probably lose the first round, Superman would incapacitate him and leave. After Wolverine regenerated(and you know he will cause he always does), he wouldn't give up till he found out how to beat Superman. Then he'd show up with some sort of krytonite something on his claws and kill him.

Im gonna go against the grain on this one and say Wolverine. The reason for this statement is that although Superman (CKent, Kal-EL) has amazing superhuman abilities and coming from another planet, hes not a gritty down to earth brawler like Logan. When Logan is injured, he has regenerative healing. Supes has to go to a fortress in the artic or get a deluxe suntan from the Sun. Also, while supes body is impenerable, Logan has weapens derived from the strongest material on the planet: Adamantium. Superman is a world wide chracter who fights on the wright path, but so is Logan whose uses a variety of martial arts as well as bare knuckle brawling to get the job done.

Long story short: Supes died once. Logans been around for over 100 years and still drinks and smokes...who you rather have in your corner?

Wolverine. I think he would tear Superman up with his Adamantium claws. All he needs is a little kryptonite key chain to help things along... And if Superman manages to harm him, he'll just take a couple seconds of personal time and regenerate himself. Wolverine rocks!

Simple, Superman does not kill unless there is a very, VERY good reason. Wolverine doesn't have that problem of morality. Superman would stop if he thought he was going to kill Wolvie, giving Logan an opening to attack.

Alright who ever pick Superman is the winning. He's stronger, nearly invulnerable and hes a hella lot faster then Wolvie ..before Wolvie could blink Supe's would be there flick him in the head and knock him out. Or he would just fly him in to space where Logan couldn't breathe and the fights over before it began !!!!

it really depends...if wolverine does not know superman's weakness, then superman will win, because although wolverinehas enhanced recovery, but if superman pick him up and fly out to space, he is dead meat! I dont think he can recovery from exploding of pressure in space...

I gotta go with Supes in this one - Wolverine does indeed have the toughest metal on his bones and claws, butttt they're from an (imaginary) earthern ore. And since Supes is more powerful than anything from Earth....

Wolverine would get fried, frozen, blasted, punched, and thrown into outer space before he could regenerate.

Now, if Wolvie laced his claws with kryptonite....
