If you feel that the US should pull out of Iraq please read this and then post your response. For those who feel that the costs are too high to stay in Iraq, I ask this. There is no doubt that if we leave there will be just as much bloodshed as there is now and a new state will be born of terror and malcontent for anything western, including our ideals of freedom and democracy, which, despite what cultural relativists may say, is bar none the greatest idea to ever have been conceived by the minds of mankind. So if we leave we not only abandon the Iraqi people, but the very notion of liberty. They say that the Iraqi people don’t want us there, so we should leave. I feel that freedom for the individual to decide their own fate is not a matter of public opinion, as long as there is one person in Iraq who wishes to be free, democracy must stand, the very essence of democracy, majority rule with minority rights. To those who say we are hindering peace, who was there to stop Hitler’s rein of terror? Who fought gallantly to save a small little country from the horrors of a communist dictatorship? Who said no longer will we sit quietly while a dictator flouts the decrees of the UN, murders people a random and whose presence as a leader is a very mockery of human rights. So before you are quick to say we should leave Iraq to the terrorists and their Iranian masters please think about what will happen. No longer will people die because they want to see their children free from terror, no longer will people be able to speak from the conscious, instead of the consensus. People will die for petty reasons like difference in religion, ethnicity and associations. So, I will end with this question. Is it better that one-hundred people die fighting evil or one person die living in peace with it?

I appreciate your argument , it has many truths but the fact is , Iraq must establish it's own destiny.....There is civil war there, but who's to say whether America vitalized the course of violence..The Muslim sects , and there quite a few, are fighting amongst themselves. They are at each others throats because of sectarian disputes...The western nations do not understand this.We can't force democracy down their throats. They don't understand it ...it's sectarian violence that keeps us there. We can't fix the Muslim idea of freedom.....They don't want to be fixed....I have yet to be convinced otherwise...America cannot continue to be the policeman of the world......I am not a liberal either..
Thanks for letting me answer your thought provoking question.

You assume much.
You are also utterly unable to demonstrate that we are "fighting evil", or occupying the country with any legitimacy.
Your entire premise rests on the statement that >> our ideal of freedom and democracy... is bar none the greatest idea to ever have been conceived by the minds of mankind<<, yet you offer no evidence besides emotional appeal.
You also state that the desires of Iraqis have no bearing, so long as ONE person in Iraq desires the same result you do. By your logic, the Chinese would have the right to invade the US, as long as ONE American desired to share the great benefits of 6000 years of Chinese civilization.
Sound ridiculous?
If you don't see the arguments as parallel, then it is YOU who are the moral relativist.

If the U.S. pulls out of Iraq, Saudi Arabia has already stated that they will send their own troops to protect their vastly outnumbered Sunni brothers from slaughter by the Shiites.
So, here we have Iran (Shiites) and Saudi Arabia (Sunni) who will both step in to prevent an escalation of the civil war.
I say, let them spend their own money and blood and go for it.
Democracy in Iraq? Good luck, especially since Bush led us to believe it would be as easy as throwing civics text books out of the back of a humvee.
We are in the middle of a civil war in Iraq. If we support one side over the other, we are effectively condoning the genocide of the losing party.
Boy, that will be great for our world image, which is already in the toilet, thanks to Bush.
I know some of you think we're having great fun in Iraq, with over 25,000 American soldiers maimed and missing limbs and over 3,000 dead now, and a debt that the U.S. will never be able to recover from, but the party's over. The American people voted for an end to this mess last November.
There is no victory in Iraq, only further shame and humiliation for the U.S.

3.In your case that one person will live, all the rest must die
4.We are fighting several country's over their at once{insurgents}
5.I f the only way to win is to nuke them,go ahead??
6.Don't they have the right to live in what ever type of government
7.Mr.bush says we will be there until victory, what is victory?,Will we know it when we get there?Does this mean until we kill them all?
8.And what about us Americans that don't want to be there? Our rights doesn't matter just yours. How many Americans have to die for oil, where not there to free anyone.
9.Why didn't Bush's daughters go fight for what there Father believes in?Oh yea, there rich and powerful ,let the other guy die for your ideals.I mean it's not like there Father had a taste of war,he couldn't even show up for the guards.

I'm really sick of picking up the paper in the morning and reading of how two or three or eight or twelve more of our children have been slaughtered in Mr. Bushs' criminal war.

Well stated. Dems won't like this. Rather than try to understand it they will just criticize you or criticize Bush.
